Triple Town Tour 8:00
Ahhh....summahtime! Stop thinking about it and get up off that butt and ride! This ride travels through the three towns of Burbank, Glendale and Atwater Village displaying variations of LA's suburban living. It is primarily a level, easy ride. This is a nice social ride and a great jaunt to get yourself back on your bike, to come out and meet some club members or just to tool around for a couple of hours. Dust it off...pump up the tires...and let's go!

Nichols Canyon to the Beach 8:00

A scenic trip up Nichols Canyon, across the rolling hills of Mulholland, and then down Sepulveda to the Beach where we'll stop and smell the sea air and hear the waves before heading back up San Vicente. Rest stop at Jamba & Noah's.

MEETING PLACE: Pacific Design Center / San Vicente between Santa Monica and Melrose, West Hollywood / On San Vicente between Santa Monica and Melrose. To park in the Pacific Design Center, enter on Melrose. There are other parking options, for example, the public lot at Santa Monica and Kings road is much cheaper. Or park on the street if you can find a street that has no meter and no restrictions (but that is hard to find in WeHo!) - Pay attention to the signs to avoid a ticket! Parking is free on Sundays at the meters.

Wednesday, Jul 9

A fun spin through the San Fernando Valley from Sherman Oaks to Glendale. The ride starts at Whole Foods in Sherman Oaks, travels out to the Whole Foods in Glendale for a rest stop and then returns to Sherman Oaks. The ride includes some long, flat stretches combined with some rolling hills through Burbank and Glendale. Bring plenty of water and some snacks.

Balboa Park to Westlake 8:00

A beautiful ride through Calabasas into Westlake Village. The 16 miles on Agoura road (pictured above) is especially nice. This is a great intro to the 65 mile version with significantly more hill climbing that we'll do next week!

Balboa Park to Westlake (option 2)   47 miles

MEETING PLACE: Balboa Sports Center / 5620 Balboa Blvd, Encino / (Thomas Guide (Thomas Guide 561-D1))
101 Frwy. to Balboa Blvd. exit. From eastbound 101, make a left--from westbound 101 make a right. Go past Burbank Blvd. and make a left into the first parking lot next to the softball fields. DO NOT PARK in the lot on Burbank Blvd.

Sunday, Jul 27

Balboa Park to Westlake 8:00

A scenic ride through the west San Fernando Valley and Conejo Valley. The climb up and over Santa Susana Pass near Chatsworth is especially rewarding. Many of the television westerns used the property and adjoining ranches, including "Gunsmoke", "Zorro", "The Monroes", "How the West Was Won", "Dundee and the Culhane", "The Big Valley", and "Have Gun Will Travel". There are definitely some hills on this ride, but the views and downhills make up for them.

Print and return the order form along with a check for $70 to Different Spokes. Include $5 if you want the jersey sent to you. Jerseys will ship to Different Spokes from Voler the second week of July and will be distributed as soon as received.

Be sure to fill out the order form with all of the information requested. Include your contact information in case we have some questions.

I have included the size chart from Voler. The measurements below are the measurements of the jerseys and not the body to fit inside of the jersey. Example: If you have a 34 inch waist, a Large in Mens will only give you a few inches of breathing space. If you want to have a flowing jersey, you may want to go with an XLarge. In my experience, these jerseys run SMALL. Always opt for the larger size.
